OUR STORY
Why we’re here is just as important as what we do
As the former CEO of one of the top writers of private flood Insurance, I have long recognized the need for the market to produce better coverage to protect against catastrophic events. The industry is not doing enough to improve society’s overall resiliency to climate-related catastrophes and there is a massive insurance gap in areas exposed to wildfire and hurricanes.
Driven by several years of poor results, many carriers and reinsurers have pulled out of states like California and Florida. This has caused a serious coverage gap that puts individuals and entire communities at serious risk.
Green Shield Risk Solutions’ approach addresses the root issue – improving insurability through risk mitigation.
Where most of the industry is focused on using risk scores to determine insurance eligibility, we are focused on what can be done to make properties defensible to wildfires and hurricanes.
Our mission is to insure good properties in states that are prone to catastrophic perils. Choosing the best risks is a critical component, but we also take action and provide peace of mind through home hardening efforts and threat monitoring.
